To mark the opening of V-A-C Foundation’s new exhibition venue in Venice, Palazzo delle Zattere, and its inaugural exhibition Space Force Construction, this specially-produced publication examines the revolutionary influence of art from Russia.
Looking back over a century since the Russian revolution, Space Force Construction brings together major works from the Russian avant-garde with works and new commissions by contemporary artists including Barbara Kruger, Cao Fei, Irina Korina and Kiril Gluschenko.
This 68-page publication includes essays by scholars Klara Kemp-Welch and Sofia Gurevich, project pages by the contemporary artists involved, and an interview with V-A-C founder Leonid Mikhelson and director Teresa Iarocci Mavica.
Space Force Construction is free with the May issue of ArtReview, and to exhibition visitors.
