Join ArtReview and ArtReview Asia editor-in-chief Mark Rappolt in Doha for a panel discussion at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha on 26 March, 11.30am. The event is part of QatarCreates: Talks series, a programme organised by the Qatar Museums on the occasion of the opening of the Jean Nouvel-designed National Museum of Qatar. Titled ‘Museums of Modern Art – Current Trends, East and West’, the discussion will focus on the concepts behind the new museum and more generally on aspects of curatorial practice, programming, and socio-political engagement within museums of modern art. The panel will feature Abdellah Karroum, director of Mathaf; Michael Govan, director of Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Los Angeles; Adam Weinberg, director of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Monica Narula from Raqs Media Collective and Vasili Tsereteli, executive director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
