On the occasion of Patrick Marmion’s theatre adaptation of Will Self’s 1997 novel Great Apes at London’s Arcola Theatre, join ArtReview and ArtReview Asia’s editor-in-chief Mark Rappolt for a panel discussion chaired by Dr Wendy Earle (impact development officer, Birkbeck). The discussion will investigate what it means to be human and what makes us different to other animals, while questioning the human tendency to display species arrogance.

Participants: Will Self, Timandra Harkness (journalist, writer and broadcaster), Dr Peter Misch (consultant adolescent forensic psychiatrist, Maudsley Hospital), and Mark Rappolt.

This event will take place in Studio 4 and is free to attend for anyone with a ticket to the play. Click here to book
