The trustees of Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi have announced the appointment of Matteo Del Fante, CEO of Terna (an electrical infrastructure firm), who will take up the position of president. He will be replacing Lorenzo Bini Smaghi who stepped down from his ten-year term at the end of April.
During his career at Palazzo Strozzi, Bini Smaghi oversaw exhibitions such as Cézanne in Florence (2007), Bronzino (2010), The Springtime of the Renaissance (2013), Pontormo and Rosso (2014), Picasso and Spanish Modernity (2014–15), Divine Beauty from Van Gogh and Chagall to Fontana (2015–16) and From Kandinsky to Pollock. The Art of the Guggenheim Collections (2016).

Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi was set up in 2006 to house a range of national and international exhibitions outside of Italy’s traditionally run institutions. From Kandinsky to Pollock. The Art of the Guggenheim Collections is currently on show until 24 July.
