Gregor Muir to leave ICA for Tate

ICA’s executive director Gregor Muir has been appointed Director of Collection, International Art at Tate. He will be replacing Frances Morris who was recently named Director of Tate Modern as of January 2017.

Muir joined the ICA in 2011 and has since played a significant role in re-establishing it as a key institution in London and beyond, working with artists from all over the world including Zhang Enli, Isa Genzken, Richard Hamilton, Lutz Bacher, Betty Woodman and Hito Steyerl, and running a critically relevant cinema and events programme. Prior to his role at ICA, Muir was the Kramlich Curator of Contemporary Art at Tate Modern where he worked on numerous film and video acquisitions for Tate Collections, as well as curating museum displays of contemporary art from the Tate Collection (2001–4).
