Cayetano Ferrer is the winner of the 2015 Faena Prize for the Arts, one of the largest art prizes in Latin America awarded by the Faena Art Center in Buenos Aires. The LA-based artist was selected among 400 applications each proposing a site-specific project for Sala Molinos, the main exhibition space at the Faena Art Center.

Ferrer will receive a $25,000 cash prize, plus $50,000 towards the realisation of his proposal, Cinema Architecture, which is set to open in October 2015.

Born in 1981 in Hawaii and based in Los Angeles, Ferrer’s recent exhibitions include Composite Arcade, Château Shatto, Los Angeles (2014), The St Petersberg Paradox, Swiss Institute, New York (2014), Downtown Light and Sound, Human Resources, Los Angeles (2014), Vibe Compression, Michael Thibault Gallery, Los Angeles (2013), Made in LA, Hammer Museum (2012), Forecast the days […], Galerie Max Mayer, Dusseldorf (2012), The New Verisimilitude, Francois Ghebaly @ M+B Gallery, Los Angeles (2011).
