Curator and Serpentine Galleries codirector Hans Ulrich Obrist is the winner of the 2015 International Folkwang Prize awarded by the Folkwang Museum in Essen, Germany. Now in its fifth edition, the prize supports individuals or institutions who have made ‘a special contribution to the promotion and dissemination of art to the general public’. In addition to his extensive writing and his activities at the Serpentine Galleries, Obrist co-organised in 2012 a performance art exhibition titled 12 Rooms at the Folkwang Museum, as part of the Ruhr Triennial.
