Sotheby's appoints director of new Sǀ2 Gallery

Sotheby’s has announced that Fru Tholstrup has joined the company as director of its Sǀ2 gallery in London’s Mayfair. The new purpose-built space, designed by David Kohn architects, will host private selling exhibitions of contemporary art. Fru spent the first eight years of her career working at Sotheby’s and comes to the role after after 10 years as director of the former Haunch of Venison gallery. Sǀ2 opens on 10th October with Joseph Beuys Revealed, a selling exhibition of rare early works by Joseph Beuys from the 1940s to the 1960s – 12 works on paper and an edition of bronze sculpture Bett.
