Rineke Dijkstra wins 2017 Hasselblad Award in Photography

Dutch artist Rineke Dijkstra has been announced as the recipient of the 2017 Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography. She will receive a SEK 1,000,000 cash-prize (approx. £90,000), an exhibition at the Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg, opening 10 October 2017, as well as a publication about her work.

Dijkstra has been selected by the Hasselblad Foundation’s board of directors, including: Duncan Forbes, curator and writer based in London and Los Angeles, Jennifer Blessing, senior curator, photography, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Simon Njami, curator and writer, Paris; Esther Ruelfs, head of photography and new media department, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg; Mark Sealy, curator and director, Autograph ABP, London.
