BolognaFiere Shanghai International Contemporary Art Exhibition (SH Contemporary), scheduled to open in September, has apparently been postponed or cancelled, Artinfo reports after receiving a leaked email from the fair.
The fair had already closed for two years following the 2008 market crash, and the 2014 edition had been troubled by government censors, the departure of a curator and the questioning of the fair’s commercial license, which critically altered the possibility of sales. Representatives from the Italian-owned fair haven’t given any indication on whether or not the fair will continue next year.
