Karen Kramer and Alice May Williams are the winners of the 2016 Jerwood/Film Video Umbrella Awards, both receiving £20,000 commissions to develop new film projects. The two artists were selected among a shortlist of five, for their proposal on this year’s theme ‘Borrowed Time’.
Now in its third edition, the Jerwood/FVU Awards has been supporting video artists in the first five years of their practice through substantial commissions. Previous winners include Lucy Clout, Ed Atkins, Corin Sworn and Emma Hart.
The artists will have 10 months to develop their film projects, which will then premiere at Jerwood Space, London on 9 March 2016, before touring to CCA Glasgow from 28 May – 10 July.
