Florence Bourgeois, former Managing Director of PAD London and Paris, has been appointed as the new director of Paris Photo, and its US counterpart, Paris Photo Los Angeles. She will be joined by Christoph Wiesner (curator, art historian and former senior director at Yvon Lambert, Paris), who will take over as artistic director for both fairs.
‘For Paris Photo and Paris Photo Los Angeles this new dual direction, both international and talented, is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the two fairs and explore new territory together, writing a new chapter for Paris Photo (Paris – Los Angeles),’ notes Jean-Daniel Compain, senior vice president of the luxury, culture, and leisure division at Reed Exhibitions. ‘They will be able to draw on the dynamics of former director Julien Frydman, who recently left the fair on January 31 after four years and who will co-curate the UNEDITED! exhibition in Los Angeles this year.’
