Next year, Dia:Beacon, New York, will present Charlotte Posenenske: Work in Progress, the first North American retrospective of works by the German artist, ranging from her early experiments in mark-making and drawing to her aluminium wall reliefs and modular sculptures. To coincide with the exhibition announcement, Dia:Beacon also announces the acquisition of 155 works by Posenenske made during the last two years of her practice (1967–68), a reflection of the museum’s ‘commitment to collecting artists work in depth, enabling thoughtful and sustained consideration of an artist’s practice’.

The retrospective will travel internationally to Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen Düsseldorf, and Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean.

Charlotte Posenenske: Work in Progress will be presented at Dia:Beacon from 8 March to 9 September, 2019.
