Chris Burden’s Tower of Power gold bar sculpture, from 1985, and on show in the artist’s retrospective at the New Museum in New York, will have its own 24-hour security guard, the Guardian reports. The work consists of 100 kilograms of gold ingots, (worth about £2.6m) stacked in a pyramid within a vitrine. Tiny figures made of matchsticks and sewing needles encircle the tower.
