The Board of Trustees of London’s The Photographers’ Gallery have announced that Scott Mead will succeed Sir Brian Pomeroy CBE to become its new Chair. Mead was a partner and managing director of Goldman Sachs until 2003, a founding partner of Richmond Park Partners and is also founder and chairman of the Mead Family Foundation.
Mead studied photography under William Eggleston and Emmet Gowin in the 1970s and recently returned to his photographic practice, holding a solo show at Hamiltons Gallery, London in 2010. His work has been exhibited and collected worldwide and was selected for the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
