Yvon Lambert to close

Yvon Lambert is to close, the gallery has announced. The move follows the retirement of the eponymous owner. Founded in 1966 in Paris, the gallery is now based on rue Vieille-du-Temple. Lambert operated a New York space from 2003 to 2011 and an abortive London operation in 2009. Lambert, who has a personal art collection, 650 works from which were donated to the French nation in 2012, is to devote himself to his other bobby of bibliophilia and plans to open a new venue entirely specialised in artistic books, rare prints and exhibition catalogues.

Yvon Lambert represents the following artists: Carlos Amorales, Robert Barry, Carl Andre, Stefan Brüggemann, Mircea Cantor, David Claerbout, Jason Dodge, Gardar Eide Einarsson, Mounir Fatmi, Spencer Finch, Vincent Ganivet, Anna Gaskelll, Kendell Geers, Douglas Gordon, Loris Gréaud, Shilpa Gupta, Karl Haendel, Candida Höfer, Jenny Holzer, Koo Jeong-A, Joan Jonas, On Kawara, Zilvinas Kempinas, Idris Khan, Anselm Kiefer, Bertrand Lavier, Louise Lawler, Jill Magid, Jonathan Monk, Damir Očko, Roman Opalka, Giulio Paolini, Claude Parent, Diogo Pimentao, Charles Sandison, Markus Schinwald, Andres Serrano, David Shrigley, Shinique Smith, Mario Testino, Salla Tykkä, Nick Van Woert, Francesco Vezzoli, Ian Wallace, Lawrence Weiner and Cerith Wyn Evans.
