The Berlin gallerist Barbara Weiss has died, it was announced by her family yesterday. Weiss, who initially studied art history and philosophy, established her gallery in Berlin’s Postdamer Strasse in 1992. The gallery, now in Berlin’s Kreutzberg district, has since worked with and represented artists including Thomas Bayrle, Geta Brătescu, Maria Eichhorn, Ayşe Erkmen, Harun Farocki and Mai-Thu Perret. Weiss was married to curator Kasper König.
