Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Film and Video Umbrella (FVU) have now opened applications for the 2016 Jerwood/FVU Awards, under the curatorial theme ‘Borrowed Time’.

Artists have until 27 March to apply, and in early May 2015, two winners will be selected, both receiving a £20,000 award to create a major new work over a 10-month period. Each recipient will also receive full production support from FVU, as well as access to the extensive moving-image facilities of University of East London, School of Arts and Digital Industries.

The final works will be exhibited the following year at Jerwood Space, London (9 March – 4 April 2016), and at CCA, Glasgow (June and July 2016), following the presentation of the projects by last year’s winners Lucy Clout and Marianna Sminett (11 March – 26 April 2015, Jerwood Space, 29 May – 12 July 2015, CCA, Glasgow).
