LA's new contemporary art museum The Broad to open Autumn 2015

The Broad Art Foundation, the initiative of collectors and philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, has announced that its new museum, The Broad, designed by architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and currently under construction on Grand Avenue in LA, is is set to open in the autumn of 2015.  

The Broad, which will have free admission, will house work by 200 artists from the 2,000 (and growing) modern and contemporary works in the Foundation’s collection. Among the works recently acquired are Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away, (2013), Ragnar Kjartansson’s video installation The Visitors, (2012), William Kentridge’s sculptural video The Refusal of Time, (2012) and Jordan Wolfson’s interactive animatronic dancebot Female figure (2014).
