Marion Coutts's 'The Iceberg' wins 2015 Wellcome Book Prize

The memoir, The Iceberg, by artist and writer Marion Coutts, about the last 18 months in the life of her husband, art critic Tom Lubbock, who died of a brain tumour in 2011, has won the 2015 Wellcome Book Prize. The prize recognises new books of fiction or nonfiction that have a central theme that engages with an aspect of medicine, health or illness. Books are submitted by publishers, with the winner receiving £30,000.

Previous winning publications include Turn of Mind by Alice LaPlante (2011); Circulation, by Thomas Wright (2012) and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot (2010).
