Henri Cartier-Bresson 2017 award winner announced

The Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation in Paris has announced South African photographer Guy Tillim as the winner of the 2017 HCB Award. The HCB award is biennially given to an established photographer whose work takes a documentary approach. Tillim was selected for his ‘Museum of the Revolution’ project, which documents the vestigial traces of colonialism across African cities (such as Johannesburg, Addis Ababa and Nairobi). He will be receiving $40,000 (approx. £31,000) to realise his proposal to photograph the streets of Dakar, Accra, Kampala and Lagos.
