Oslo’s city government has given final approval for the Munch Museum to move to a new waterfront site designed by Herreros Arquitectos, The Art Newspaper reports. Concerns about the cost of a new building resulted in the government stalling over the process, but the long-awaited decision has meant that the project, which began in 2008, can resume development in Bjørvika, Oslo’s harbour area. The construction of the new Munch Museum is estimated to cost €290m and is due to open in 2020.
