German art collector Julia Stoschek announced the opening of a satellite space for temporary exhibitions in Berlin in June this year, The Art Newspaper reports. Stoschek opened her first exhibition space in 2007 in Dusseldorf, now attracting more than 15,000 visitors each year. Her collection of around 700 videoworks will form the basis of the temporary exhibitions that will be housed in the former Czech cultural centre in Mitte.
The first exhibition to be held in the space (2 June – 18 September 2016) is set to coincide with the 9th Berlin Biennale and will focus on ‘digitalisation in social reality, identity and nature’, featuring the works of Ian Cheng, Jon Rafman, Juliana Huxtable, Hito Steyerl and Ed Atkins.
