Rockbund Art Museum, Shanghai, and Hugo Boss have announced the finalists for the third edition of the Hugo Boss Asia Art award: Li Ming (China), Yu Ji (China), Robert Zhao Renhui (Singapore) and Tao Hui (China). The artists will take part in a group exhibition at Rockbund Art Museum (27 October 2017 – 7 January 2018). The award winner will be announced in November and will receive RMB 300,000 (approx. £34,000)
The jury for this year’s award included Ute Meta Bauer, founding director, NTU Centre for Contemporary Art, Singapore; Yuko Hasegawa, chief curator, Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, Japan; Venus Lau, artistic director, OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT), Shenzhen, China; Adele Tan, curator, National Art Gallery, Singapore; Zhang Peili, artist, Hangzhou, China.
The biannual award celebrates emerging artists working in the field of contemporary art in Greater China and Southeast Asia.
