Brian Ramnarine, the New York foundry owner accused of trying to sell an unauthorised copy of a Jasper Johns sculpture, which he made using the artist’s moulds, has pleaded guilty, the BBC reports.
Ramnarine, 59, tried to sell the piece for $11 million (£6.6 million) and also admitted carrying out other sculpture frauds, including trying to sell work attributed to American pop artist Robert Indiana.
He will be sentenced on 30 May 2014.
