Frieze New York to include a Gap store

Frieze New York will see the launch of Gap White Space, which Women’s Wear Daily pithily surmises to be ‘a pop-up shop’ run by the international clothing retailer Gap Inc. The project, which also involves Visionaire and the New York-based architects Leong Leong, will give fair goers the opportunity of buying t-shirts, albeit ‘limited edition’ and designed by Alex Katz, Yoko Ono, Richard Phillips, Ugo Rondinone, Peter Lindbergh, Francois Berthoud and Roe Ethridge. The most bizarre element to the whole thing however is that the apparel will be made with UV-sensitive inks that change colour when exposed to sunlight. Gap White Space will also occur during Frieze London in October.
