Prior to its re-opening in October, after a $530 million refurbishment of its Supreme Court wing, National Gallery Singapore is offering the opportunity to be selected for ‘naked’ tours of the historic empty building, before it’s installed with 1,000 out of the 10,000 objects in the Gallery’s collection of Southeast Asian art, The Straits Times reports.
Applications are being made through the Gallery’s Facebook page with the first of the 360 winners already announced. Winners will get a 90-minute guided tour of both gallery buildings including the opportunity to be some of the first visitors to experience one of the newly added features – a glass, steel and alumimium roof, which now connects the two buildings.
These tours are not to be confused with the different kind of ‘naked’ tours that were a recent sell-out at the James Turrell exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia.
