Frances Richardson has been announced as the winner of the 2017–2018 Mark Tanner Sculpture Award. She will receive £8,000 towards the production of new work over the coming year, and a solo exhibition at Standpoint Gallery in London in 2018. Established in 2001 and named after British Sculptor Mark Tanner, the Award is given every year to a sculptor residing in the UK, whose work ‘demonstrates a commitment to process and materials’.

Richardson lives and works in London. She has exhibited in galleries and institutions across the UK and internationally, including Portland Art Museum, US (2016), Vitrine Gallery, London (2015), and Hanover Project, UCLAN, Preston, (2015).
