Lisson Gallery has announced a second New York space. Located at 136 Tenth Avenue the new venue is to open with a solo exhibition by British artist Haroon Mirza. The building, which once to house Lori Bookstein Fine Art, has been renovated by Studio Christian Wassmann, the architect who, along with Studio MDA, worked on Lisson’s purpose-built space under the High Line. Mirza’s exhibition, which features work developed out of a residency at Pivô in São Paulo, in which the artist researched entheogens – herbs that have psychedelic properties, such as those used in the ancient Amazonian hallucinogenic blend, Ayahuasca – will be followed by an exhibition of paintings on paper and prints by Carmen Herrera.
