Sharjah Art Foundation has announced its initial selection of artists who will be participating in the 14th edition of Sharjah Biennial next year. The biennial, titled Leaving the Echo Chamber and opening March 2019, focuses on topics such as the fabrication of histories, societal displacement and the shifting of borders. Sharjah Biennial 2019 will consist of three main exhibitions each presented by a curator; the curators this year are Zoe Butt (artistic director of The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), Omar Kholeif (artist, curator, writer and editor) and Claire Tancons (curator, critic and art historian).
