The African art and design fair Also Known as Africa announced they are cancelling their first edition, which was scheduled to open on 3 December in Paris, in the wake of the recent Paris attack that killed 130 people on 13 November and the ensuing attack on a hotel in Bamako, Mali, The Art Newspaper reports. The director of the fair Victoria Mann said in a statement that the state of heightened security in France, the Brussels lockdown and the bleak economic outlook had led a few galleries to pull out of the fair, and to postpone the inauguration to 2016.
