Plans for this year’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion (the fifteenth annual commission), designed by Spanish architects SelgasCano have revealed that it will be created using a double-layered shell, made of opaque and translucent fluorine-based plastic, giving it the appearance of a series of irregular, multicoloured cocoons.

The Pavilion, which will be open from 25 June – 18 October, traditionally operates throughout the summer and autumn as a café space and a venue for events.
