Susanne Klatten, a German art collector and BMW’s major shareholder, has announced she will be opening an art foundation in Nantesbuch in Bavaria, Germany, Monopol reports. The Stiftung Nantesbuch will occupy two disused farms and engage with the surrounding nature, with the opening days’ programme including for example hikes with an artist and a botanist. Klatten’s interest in nature is also reflected in her 600-work collection (to be housed in the yet-to-be completed second building) which focuses on ‘microcosmos and macrocosmos, plants, animals and humans’, including works by Michael Beutler, Olaf Holzapfel, Kaarina Kaikkonen, Alex Katz, Anselm Kiefer, Karin Kneffel and Robert Longo.
