The open call for filmmakers’ submissions to the Sharjah Film Platform short film production grant will close soon.
The new annual film initiative is a platform organised by Sharjah Art Foundation, and supports the art scene (including filmmakers, producers, critics and students) in the UAE and surrounding region. In addition to funding the short film production grant, Sharjah Film Platform will include a film and awards programme, as well as a public programme of talks, workshops and discussions. Screenings will be presented at Mirage City Cinema, Al Mureijah Square and in various locations across the emirate.
Application details are as follows:
‘Applicants should submit a grant application and a three-minute video that presents an overview of the genre, themes, structure, plot, setting and characters for their original short film. A total of $30,000 will be awarded, and films selected by the jury should be completed in time for the SFP programme in January 2019.’
