Moderna Museet Malmö has just announced the appointment of Iris Müller-Westermann who is to be the museum’s new director. Currently the senior curator at Moderna Museet Stockholm, Müller-Westermann has been responsible for exhibitions such as Louise Bourgeois: I Have Been to Hell and Back, Munch By Himself, Max Ernst: Dream and Revolution, and Hilma af Klint: A Pioneer of Abstraction. She will be replacing John Peter Nilsson who will remain the director until the end of the year. Müller-Westermann will take up the position from 1 January 2017 where her new role as director will be to continue promoting Moderna Museet Malmö as an independent institution.
