Marwan Kassab-Bachi, known for his figurative paintings, has died aged 82, Art Asia Pacific reports. Born in Damascus Kassab-Bachi studied Arabic literature at Damascus university before leaving for Europe in 1957, where he studied and later taught painting in Berlin. Marwan Kassab-Bachi exhibited widely in Germany with more recent exhibitions including a survey show at the Barjeel Foundation in Sharjah in 2014 and a solo show at the Mosaic Rooms in London in 2015.
