Sanghee Song has been announced as the winner of the 2017 edition of the Korea Artist Prize. Organised by Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) together with the SBS Culture Foundation, the prize aims to recognise the work of artists who are making significant contributions to Korean contemporary art. In February 2017, Song, along with three other shortlisted artists – Sunny Kim, Kelvin Kyungkun Park and Bek Hyunjin – each received 40m won (approximately £26,000) towards the creation of new works, which are currently on view in an exhibition at MMCA (on through 18 February).
