i8 Gallery has announced that Egill Sæbjörnsson will represent Iceland at the Venice Biennale in 2017. Based between Reykjavik and Berlin, Sæbjörnsson has two permanent video installations at the Robert Koch-Institute (Berlin) and Kunstmuseum Ahlen, and his most recent solo exhibitions were held at the Europaen Center for the Arts Dresden (2013) and the Wilhelm Hack Museum, Ludwigshafen (2013).
