Lauren Cornell appointed cocurator and associate director of technology initiatives at the New Museum

Lauren Cornell has been promoted to curator and associate director of technology initiatives at the New Museum, New York. Cornell will take up her new position on 1 July, in order to develop the curatorial programme through exhibitions, symposia, and online commissions, in addition to managing the museum’s digital platforms and contents.

Cornell has been working at the New Museum since 2005, where she has been adjunct curator as well as executive director of the museum’s nonprofit Rhizome programme, and most recently cocurated the New Museum Triennial with Ryan Trecartin. Cornell is also coeditor of the forthcoming book Mass Effect: Art and the Internet in the Twenty-First Century, and is on the faculty at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College.
