Tate have announced that the new Tate Modern extension will open to the public on 17 June 2016. The £260m Herzog & de Meuron building will offer 60 percent more space for exhibitions and will present a total re-hang of the collection and the gallery’s recent acquisitions. School children from around the UK will be able to visit the new Tate Modern in a special preview, a day before it opens to the public.
