The Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia, has announced that its chief curator Sylvie Patry will be stepping down from her position to return to the Musée d’Orsay, which she left two years ago, this time as deputy director for curatorial affairs and collections. Patry will continue to work as a consultant for the Barnes through 2019, during which time she will help the museum build a catalogue raisonne of Cézanne’s work in its collection and oversee exhibition projects on the way, including Mohamed Bourouissa: Urban Riders (30 June – 2 October).

An expert in Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, Patry previously worked at the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art, the Musée National Gustave-Moreau and the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, before joining the Musée d’Orsay in 2005 as curator.
