BP portrait award announces winner

Scottish-born artist Clara Drummond has won the 2016 BP portrait award, The Guardian reports. Having previously been shortlisted for the 2013 and 2014 award, the artist will this year receive £30,000 for her painting Girl in a Liberty Dress. Along with the prize money, Drummond will be given a commission worth £5,000 to be decided upon by the National Portrait Gallery trustees. The second and third prizes were received by Chinese artist Bo Wang (£10,000) and Benjamin Sullivan (£8,000), respectively. Jamie Coreth won the BP Young Artist Award of £7,000 for his painting Dad Sculpting Me.
