New space dedicated to contemporary art from Latin America to open in Madrid

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) and The Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport have announced the addition of an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art from Latin America, which will be housed on the second floor of the arts and culture centre La Tabacalera in Madrid. The foundation will donate works from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection, which holds more than 3,000 artworks by international artists including Carmen Herrera, Cildo Meireles, Jesus Soto, Grete Stern and Horacio Coppola. La Tabacalera is currently undergoing refurbishment and expects to be able to deliver more than 50,000 square feet of exhibition space.
