Richard Calvocoressi (born 1951) studied at Oxford University and the Courtauld Institute. He was a curator at the Tate Gallery (1979–87), and director of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh (1987–2007), before moving to the Henry Moore Foundation, from where he retired in July.
Calvocoressi’s appointment coincides with the opening of a new Gagosian gallery in Mayfair this October.
