An art auction in support of the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in June will take place on 16 October at Sotheby’s in London. The works to go on sale have been donated by artists including Tacita Dean, Tracey Emin, Rachel Howard, Sarah Lucas, Harland Miller, Wolfgang Tillmans, Yinka Shonibare, Bob & Roberta Smith, Mark Wallinger and Rachel Whiteread, as well as by gallerist Sadie Coles, who will donate a work from her collection.

The auction has been organised by film producer Hamish McAlpine and art consultant Katie Heller, who have been sourcing works for the sale over the past few months. The Rugby Portobello Trust, a charity which has been supporting the Grenfell residents since the fire in June, will distribute the proceeds of the sale equally among the 158 surviving families. The works will be on view at Sotheby’s London ahead of the auction from 12–16 October. Full details of the works will be available in October. Further details at sothebys.com
