Dutch artist and filmmaker Wendelien van Oldenborgh is to represent the Netherlands at the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017. Van Oldenborgh has been commissioned by the Mondriaan Fund to produce new work for the Dutch pavilion next year. The show will be curated by Lucy Cotter, writer and former co-director of Public Space With a Roof (Amsterdam). Their proposal for the biennale stems from The Netherlands’ reconstruction of national identity in the 1950’s and explores what their identity might be today.

Wendelien van Oldenborgh’s most recent experimental film From Left To Night (2015) is on show at Wilfried Lentz Rotterdam until 3 July 2016.
