The first contemporary art gallery in Cameroon has opened. Undertaken by the Cameroonian Ministry of Arts and Culture and the French embassy, the renovation and construction of the new space in the capital city of Yaoundé was carried out as part of an ongoing Debt reduction and Development Contract (C2D) between Cameroon and France. The gallery inaugurated with a survey show, on through 31 July, of Cameroonian contemporary art featuring forty works from twenty-three artists.
