The artist was found unconscious, with facial injuries, in a bathroom at Hong Kong’s City University, the South China Morning Post has reported. The 56-year-old artist, who was in the city for Art Basel Hong Kong, had criticised human rights and violence on mainland China, at a forum at the university.
Although there was some initial confusion over whether Lee had slipped and fell or been assaulted, the artist, who has Parkinson’s disease, believes that he was attacked.
