The executive board of Bergenstriennalen has named Ingrid Haug Erstad the new general manager and director of Bergen Assembly. Erstad started at Bergen Assembly as interim director in 2018, succeeding Haakon Thuestad. Speaking on the appointment, she stated: ‘I look very much forward to keep developing this ascending and well-reputed institution. It will be a great pleasure to manage the next edition of Bergen Assembly all the way from start to finish’.
Erstad, an experienced art historian and curator, began her career at Bergen Kunsthall. Before joining Bergen Assembly in the lead-up to its third edition Actually, the Dead Are Not Dead (2019), she worked on various projects in Europe and the US.
