Yto Barrada wins Abraaj Group Art Prize 2015

Morocco born Yto Barrada has won the Abraaj Group Art Prize 2015, which awards a $100,000 commission to one artist. Barrada’s newly commissioned work will be part of an exhibition at Art Dubai, 18–21 March 2015.

The exhibition will also feature previous works by three additional shortlisted artists—Sarnath Banerjee, Setareh Shahbazi and Mounira Al Solh. The guest curator, Omar Kholeif, will work with all the artists to curate and produce the exhibition and accompanying catalogue. 

Launched in 2008 the Abraaj Group Art Prize encourages and rewards artistic development in the MENASA region (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia).
